Why we exist

You do not stop loving someone because you live four hundred miles away, because you no longer drive, or because life has taken a turn that leaves no time for the cemetery.

Racine du Souvenir exists to bridge that distance. We go in your place, we care for the grave as if it were our own, and we send you news of it. Nothing more, nothing less.

What we do

Caring for a place, down to the detail

Four gestures, repeated at every visit. They are what keeps a grave dignified as the years pass.

Cleaning

Black soap, baking soda, a soft brush. We match the cleaning to the stone: a product that is too harsh marks a monument forever.

Weeding

All by hand, without weedkiller. It takes longer, but it is the only way not to damage the monument.

Remembrance deserves more than a passing visit.

Three levels of care, from €59 a month. Some graves need an initial restoration clean before regular care can be set up. When that is the case, we tell you plainly, before the visits begin.

How it starts

Four steps, and we take it from there

  1. 01

    You choose a plan

    Four, eight or twelve visits a year. You can also write to us first, if you would rather talk it over before deciding.

  2. 02

    You send us a photo

    A recent photo of the grave, and the name of the cemetery. We also ask whether there is already a vase there: without one, an arrangement cannot hold.

  3. 03

    We look at it together

    If the grave is in good condition, regular care begins with the very first visit. If a deep clean is needed first, we tell you so in full transparency, before any commitment: a quote is sent to you, billed separately and paid before the restoration. Regular care only begins once the grave has been restored.

  4. 04

    You follow everything from your space

    Photos, reports, history, memory book. You invite whoever you want in your family, wherever they live.

Our commitments

The things we will not compromise on

No harsh products

Black soap, baking soda, weeding by hand. We do not use chemical weedkiller in a cemetery, or on old stone.

Your data stays yours

Everything is hosted in Europe, access is limited to the people you invite, and your photos are never used for anything else.

No commission on repair work

If the monument needs restoring, we put you in touch with craftspeople and help you compare two quotes. With the Heritage Presence plan, we can also follow the work for you.

What people often ask us

Do I need to be there during the visits?

No, never. That is the whole point of the service: we go for families who live far away, or who can no longer make the journey. You receive the photos after every visit.

Which cemeteries do you go to?

We cover the whole of Essonne (91) and neighbouring towns, every cemetery included, starting from Viry-Châtillon. For somewhere further afield, tell us: we will answer you honestly, and charge you nothing.

Is there a minimum commitment?

Yes. The subscription is agreed for 12 months, then renewed automatically for the same length, unless cancelled by registered letter received at least one month before the contract’s anniversary date. That length matches the natural rhythm of the service: a care plan makes full sense when it accompanies the grave through all four seasons.

What if the grave is badly worn?

We tell you before we start. A grave left untended for years needs a big clean first, which we price separately once we have seen your photos. The subscription takes over afterwards, so the work lasts.
