Behind Racine du Souvenir, one person
The house was founded by Racha Blottiaux, in Viry-Châtillon. She cares for graves and brings them flowers, for families who cannot do it themselves, and she tells them about every visit. This page says where she comes from and what she commits to.
The founder
Why I created Racine du Souvenir
Racine du Souvenir was born of a very personal conviction: some places deserve to be cared for as gently as the memories they hold.
I spent more than ten years in property and building management, part of it in London, in demanding surroundings. I learnt there what a kept promise is worth: a place in your care is judged over time, not on a first impression.
I lost my father very young, and I grew up knowing what places of remembrance mean. This work comes from there. After all those years managing buildings, I wanted a more human trade, turned towards families.
Caring for a grave is never just a physical task. It is a presence. A continuity. A silent way of honouring a bond that remains.
I believe technology should not replace people. It should simply let families stay close to their memories. That is the whole point of the private space: it does not replace a visit, it carries the visit to those who cannot make it.
The house was registered on 2 juillet 2026 and I make the visits myself. I would rather write that than let anyone imagine a team. It is also why I take on no more graves than I can hold.

Our commitments
The things we will not compromise on
Five rules we apply without exception, even when they cost us time or a sale.
Gentle products, weeding by hand
Black soap, baking soda, a soft brush. Nothing else touches the stone, and no chemical weedkiller, on the grave or around it. It takes longer by hand: it is the only way to damage nothing.
Craftspeople’s quotes at no extra cost to you
If the monument needs restoring, we show you two quotes from craftspeople and you deal directly with the one you choose, at no extra cost to you. With the Heritage Presence plan, we can also follow the work for you, to make sure it is done well.
Your data stays in Europe
The database and the photos of our visits are hosted in the European Union. What you keep in your space belongs to you, is never used for anything else, and stays available to download.
Discretion on site
A cemetery is a public place, not a worksite. We respect the rules and the opening hours, we photograph only the grave entrusted to us, and we approach no one in the paths.
Terms in writing
You commit for twelve months, one full year of care and attention for the grave. At each anniversary the subscription renews for a further twelve months, unless you cancel by registered letter received at least one month before the contract’s anniversary date. TVA non applicable, article 293 B du CGI: the price shown is the price you pay.
During the visit
- We introduce ourselves to the keeper or the office, when the cemetery has one.
- We move about on foot and place nothing on a neighbouring grave.
- We stop and come back later if a ceremony is taking place nearby.
- We leave with our equipment, and green waste goes in the bins provided.
- In bad weather that would compromise the quality of the visit or our safety, heavy rain, snow, heatwave or storm, the visit is postponed and rescheduled as soon as possible.
Our limits
What Racine du Souvenir is not
This limit is deliberate, and written down. It spares you from expecting something we could not deliver, at a time when disappointment costs dear.
Racine du Souvenir is not:
- an emergency service
- a building or stonemasonry firm
- a transport service
- a bereavement counselling service
In an emergency, for stonemasonry or through a difficult grief, we point you towards the people whose trade it is. What we do, on the other hand, is described service by service.

We cover every cemetery in Essonne and in the neighbouring towns, setting out from Viry-Châtillon, where the house is based.
For a cemetery further away, tell us: we will answer you honestly, and charge you nothing.

Let us talk about the grave on your mind
You write straight to the person who will make the journey: she is the one who reads the messages and answers them. Tell her the town, the name carved on the stone and what is worrying you. You will know who you are entrusting the place to before deciding anything at all.
